Luxstone Wash Cloth
Welcome to my very first blog post!
A few months ago, I would have never dreamed I would be sitting at my computer at 1:30am writing and rewriting my first ever blog post!
It was always a “some day” wish that I never thought that I could achieve and I owe it all to Covid 19.
When Covid 19 made its uninvited appearance in Canada and everything stopped, it left many of us not sure as to what our next steps were. Kids were no longer in school, people were losing their jobs and socializing in person stopped.
Now, I am one who enjoys having coffee with my friends, the quiet time when my children were in school and volunteering in my children’s classrooms. So, this was a shock to the system!
A few weeks into the pandemic, my kids, husband and myself were going a little stir crazy with being home all the time. Even my dog (Hunter) was over all the togetherness and started spending some more time in our room.
Anyways, I was scrambling to learn the online classroom platform that my kids are using, finding new activities for them to do, and set up virtual play dates so that my children could visit with their friends.
Doing all this made me realize that I missed my visits with my friends. So, I called up one of my best friends (who I co-admin Hooking With String Facebook group with) and discussed the idea of setting up a virtual crochet night.

HWS Stitch and Visit Nights have become something that I look forward to every week.
Through this, some of my acquaintances have been some of the most amazing friends which led to bouncing ideas off each other, encouragement and even working together.
It was a conversation that led me to take this leap and I am grateful.
While I am nervous about this new adventure, I am also extremely excited for the journey and being able to share it with all of you.
When I said, “yes!” to this new adventure, I immediately got thinking about what kind of patterns I wanted to release here and I decided that I would do something that I have not done yet.
We are stuck at home so what better way to kick off this blog by designing a pattern for the home and this is how the Luxstone Wash Cloth came to be.
