Happy New Year!

There is no question, 2020 was a difficult year. It had all kinds of things that went wrong, scary things, sad things, and many losses.

It has been a year that has pushed people passed their boundaries. I know I have personally cried many tears, had many worries and my family had obstacles to overcome and I am sure there are more obstacles to overcome in the future, but I want to focus on the good things that happened this past year.

I saw people in my community work together to help another family in need. People gave what they could and offered to help where they can. Yes, I know there were negatives but I am going to focus on “the helpers”. Total strangers offering to pick up groceries and meds for immunocompromised people and the elderly.

Community Spirit!

This is amazing to me, it’s the hope we all need to see. I witnessed makers in the crafting community work hard to bring joy through their art, give back in ways they can.

I saw families come up with creative ways to spend time together when they could not be together in person.

These are just some of the amazing things I saw this past year.

What is something positive that happened for you in 2020?

I know it can be hard to see past all of the sadness, the losses and scary things but for me, focusing on the good things, the helpers, has helped me cope through all of the negative things.

While my physical support system wasn’t able to help, they all showed up to help in other ways. We showed up for each other. I miss the hugs, dinners, dates but I know they will always show up even if it isn’t physically.
